She passed away in Scotland County Nursing Home, March 12, 8:30 A at the age of 97 years. She was united in marriage to Ross Addison Leach on Thanksgiving November 25, 1897. To this union two children were born, Mrs Wm (Minnie) McWilliam with whom she made her home the last seven years and Verne L Leach, deceased. Others surviving are her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Beryl Leach, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Sylvia Israel and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; son; parents; and six brothers, one in infancy, Jess, Urb Otis, Glen and Ernest Poe. In early life she united with the Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church and was the oldest living member. She lived her entire life in Scotland County and leaves a circle of friends to mourn her passing. Funeral services were held at Payne's chapel in Memphis at 2:00 PM March 14, 1973 and burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The Rev W Paul Walden officiated. Special music was by Rosalle Gooden and Maxine Slavin and accompanied by Ann Luther. Body bearers were Waldo McWilliam, Robert Riney, W T Coffrin, Wesly Lay, Harry Lee Crawford and Ralph Dodge.
