Death Ends Long Illness for Mrs. Ralph Bacon Mrs. Ralph Bacon succumbed to a lingering illness on Tuesday evening of last week. She had been bed fast for the past nine years and was tenderly cared for by her husband and her daughter Mrs.Roy Cheek. She was a patient sufferer and had kept her cheerful disposition through her illness. Effie Blanche Kilgore, daughter of Curtis and Flora Kilgore, was born February 11, 1891, near Clearfield, Iowa, and departed this life January 18, 1950, at her home in Tingley, Iowa, at the age of 58 years, 11 months, 7 days. She was united in marriage to Ralph Bacon, February 9, 1910 near Cromwell, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Bacon made their home on a farm northwest of Cromwell until 1933 then moving to the Tingley vacinity. To this union two children were born, Helen (Baker)of Kellerton and Mildred (Cheek)of Tingley. Although a member of the Congregational Church in Cromwell, she was a faithful worker in the Methodist Church of Tingley. She was a loving wife and mother, always lending a helping hand as long as her health permitted. Even throughout her many years of suffering, her thoughts were more of her family and friends than of herself. She is survived by her husband Ralph of Tingley, two daughters, Mrs. Helen (Lyman) Baker of Kellerton, and Mrs. Mildred (Roy) Cheek of Tingley; one granddaughter; eight grandsons; two step granddaughters whom she took into her heart as her own; four brothers, Glenn Kilgore of Sandwich, Illinois, James Kilgore of Des Moines, Charles Kilgore and Jesse Kilgore of Creston; an uncle, Chas. Newburn of Clearfield; an aunt, Mrs. Clara Estel of Lenox; many nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Methodist Church with the Rev. A. R. Weed in charge. Music was furnished by Mrs. C. E. Bosworth and Mrs. Lloyd England, accompanied by Margaret Eighme at the piano. The pallbearers were Roy Kilgore, Max Kilgore, John Holt, Paul Davenport, Alden Petersen, and Harry Smock. Interment was in the Cromwell cemetery. CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank all our friends and neighbors for the flowers and kindnesses bestowed upon us in our time of sorrow. Not only at this time, but also your thoughtfulness through the years of our loved one's illness.
