Born Effie Cook at Camptown, Pennsylvania on August 31, 1858 she came to Iowa with her parents 58 years ago. She was married to Charles S. Peet September 18, 1878 at Oxford, Iowa. To this union was born one child, a daughter, Mrs. Nora Isaacson of Clarion who cared for her the last few weeks and was with her when the end came. Born Effie Cook at Camptown, Pennsylvania on August 31, 1858 she came to Iowa with her parents 58 years ago. She was married to Charles S. Peet September 18, 1878 at Oxford, Iowa. To this union was born one child, a daughter, Mrs. Nora Isaacson of Clarion who cared for her the last few weeks and was with her when the end came. She leaves her husband; her daughter; two grandchildren, NiLore and Elwin Isaacson of Clarion; one sister, Mrs. A. L. Southwick of Cherokee and many other relatives. The funeral was held at the home on Monday afternoon, the pastor, the Rev. J. G. Waterman of the M. E. church in charge. The Rev. R. A. Brough, pastor of the Presbyterian church read the scripture and offered prayer. The Rev. and Mrs. Edward Duea of the Lutheran church sang two duets. The last two named ministers were close neighbors of Mr. and Mrs. Peet. The program followed was the expressed wishes of the deceased. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery. Those from a distance who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Z. L. Southwick and daughter VaNeita, Merlin Belt and family of Cherokee; Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Curran and Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Brink of Clarence; Mrs. Gillett of Ames; Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Isaacson of Fort Dodge; Miss Joyce Wilcox, Dumont and Hildor Isaacson and family and Mr. and Mrs. L. J. White of Clarion. The first 16 years of her childhood were spent at Camptown, when with her parents she came to Oxford, Mills County, Iowa. In her girlhood, Mrs. Peet gave her heart to God and united with the Methodist church Through the long years she has been a faithful and respected member, active and interested as long as health would permit. She loved companionship of family and friends and many will cherish her memory. For 42 years, she was a resident of Wright county and charter member of the Trident club.
