Description	:	UNION - Effie Martin Owensby, 79, of 109 Kingsmore Road died May 30, 2001, at Wallace Thomson Hospital after an extended illness. A native of Union, she was the daughter of the late John Wesley Martin and Rebecca Elizabeth Foster Martin. She was a member of Lower Fairforest Baptist Church and was retired from Milliken Co. -- Lockhart Plant. Surviving are two sons, John W. Martin of Union, Donnie O Seelye of Havanna, Ill.; a sister, Mae Lawson of Lockhart; two nieces reared in the home, Ruby Gettys of Union, Dot Gibson of Sharon;... She was a member of Lower Fairforest Baptist Church and was retired from Milliken Co. -- Lockhart Plant. Surviving are two sons, John W. Martin of Union, Donnie O Seelye of Havanna, Ill.; a sister, Mae Lawson of Lockhart; two nieces reared in the home, Ruby Gettys of Union, Dot Gibson of Sharon; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Lower Fairforest Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Jim D. Cunningham. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will remain at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight and will be placed in the church at 3 p.m. Friday to await the hour of service. The family is at the home of her son, John W. and Dianne S. Martin, 114 Martin Road, Union. Memorials may be made to Lower Fairforest Baptist Church Building Fund, 125 Lower Fairforest Church Road, Union, S.C. 29379. The S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
