She was born April 13, 1924, in Netawaka, the daughter of Elmer and Edith Simons Worner. She graduated from Atchison County Community High School in 1943 and attended Baker University. She taught school in Atchison and Jefferson counties for six years and served as a substitute teacher in Valley Falls. Mrs. Lederer was a member of the Valley Falls United Methodist Church. She taught Sunday school and served as trustee on the administrative board at the church. She was married to John Lederer May 2, 1948, in Dunavant. They lived all their married lives in Valley Falls. He survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Carol Hopkins, Emporia; two sons, John Lederer and Dean Lederer, both of Valley Falls; four sisters, Esther Butkovich, Kansas City, Mo., Elaine Worner, Eleanor Worner, and Emmagene Williams, all of Valley Falls; a brother, Edward Worner, Kansas City; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Ernest Worner and Elmer Worner, and a sister, Edith Hildman, preceded her in death. Services were Nov. 2 at the Valley Falls United Methodist Church. Burial was in the Valley Falls Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the church or to the Valley Falls Athletic Association and sent in care of Mercer Funeral Home.
