Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. The Rev. Michael McDermott will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery at St. Paul with military honors at the graveside. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Jacobsen Funeral Home in St. Paul and from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the church with a wake service at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Lubash was born on April 30, 1912, on the family farm near Ashton to Thomas and Veronica (Lewandowski) Lubash. He was educated in a rural school south of Loup City. He grew up on the family farm in Sherman County. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army from Feb. 10, 1941, to Oct. 15, 1945. He then moved to Omaha, where he worked in a rubber factory. He later moved to a farm in Howard County near Ashton. He married Veronica Krolikowski on Oct. 24, 1951, at Ashton. The couple farmed near Ashton until 1971, when they retired and moved to St. Paul. Mrs. Lubash died in December 1996. Mr. Lubash remained in the family home until March 31, 1999, when he entered the Grand Island Veterans Home. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and Carl Mogensen American Legion Post 119, both of St. Paul. He enjoyed yard work and gardening. Survivors include one son, Martin of St. Libory; one daughter, Bernice (Mrs. Al) Ziola of Grand Island; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Emily Kosmicki of Grand Island and Delphine Mrkvicka of Farwell; and two brothers, Hubert of Sidney and Alvin of Omaha. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Bernice and Martha Lubash and Clara Riskowski; and one brother, Stanley. The Grand Island Independent, May 18, 1999
