She was born in Firth on September 20, 1927, to John and Hannah (DeBoer) TenHulzen. She graduated from Firth High School. She married Edward Baker in 1950 after teaching school for a few years. Read More	Eileen June Baker September 20, 1927 - October 20, 2017 Eileen June Baker, 90, went home to be with her Lord, peacefully at home, on October 20, 2017. She was born in Firth on September 20, 1927, to John and Hannah (DeBoer) TenHulzen. She graduated from Firth High School. She married Edward Baker in 1950 after teaching school for a few years. Ed and Eileen attended the Bible Presbyterian Church in Firth, Firth Community Church and later attended the Lincoln Berean Church. Eileen attended the Evangelical Free Church in Firth after Ed passed away. She lived and worked on the family farm all of her life. She loved helping her husband farm and milk cows. Eileen loved her family and enjoyed cooking and baking for them. She knew everyone's favorites. She always had a big garden and canned fruits and vegetables. She made hundreds of jars of sweet pickles, which all the great-grandchildren love. She will be remembered for her servants' heart and her love for family. She will be missed by her three children, son, Chad (Pam) Baker, Firth; daughters, Pat Baker, Firth, and Jan Baker, Plattsmouth; and six grandchildren, Anitra (Chad) Lechtenberger (children, Cara, Ben, Ellison),Lincoln; Jared (Michelle) Baker (children, Ethan, Kaylee, Caleb, and Sydney), Naponee; Jess (Tracy) Baker (children, Hayden, Nash), Roca; Donnia (Brett) Behrends (children, Reese, Brenna, Halle and Avery), Firth; Jake (Hannah) Jensen, Plattsmouth; Luke Jensen, Omaha; brother, Gene (Beulah) TenHulzen, Firth; sister, JoAnn Caulkins, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Virgil Oldemeyer. Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 24, at the Evangelical Free Church of Firth, 3rd & Nemaha St. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m., Monday at Metcalf Funeral Home, 309 Nemaha St., Firth.
