Eileen Lucille Jewell was born October 21, 1931 in Sheffield, one of 12 children to August and Ella (Block) Siems. She graduated from Sheffield High School as Vice President of her senior class. She worked at the Sheffield telephone office until her marriage. On August 5, 1951 Eileen was united in marriage with Robert Jewell. They farmed near Sheffield and she became a devoted mother to her three daughters. She was active in the Evangelical United Brethren Church and was a generous hostess in her home. She volunteered at the Sharing Shoppe, delivered Meals on Wheels and stayed active in her flower and vegetable gardens. She was also quite artistic in making decorative birdhouses. Eileen is remembered as a wonderful baker and made the best potato salad in the state. Left to cherish the good times are her husband of nearly 59 years: Robert; three daughters: Peg Jewell, Sheffield; Nancy Swieter, Sheffield and Karen and Dave Rust, Mason City; grandchildren: Brian & Jennie Bonjour; Stephanie Swieter; Stacey Swieter; Laura Rust and Angela Rust; great grandchildren: Justin, Joey and Amber Bonjour; sisters and brothers: Sue Wagner; Tilene Humpheys; Ed Siems, Dale Siems and Delbert Block; many nieces and nephews. Eileen is preceded in death by her parents, grandson Allan Bonjour 2 sisters: Luella Lahner & Louise Romine; 4 brothers: Elmer Siems, Martin Siems, Dick Siems and Benny Siems. Retz Funeral Home
