Description	:	Eilert Wilken, 84, a long time resident of Chatsworth, died Saturday at the Hawarden hospital. He had been in poor health the past six months. He was born May 8, 1867 in Freesland, Germany, and came to America as a young man. He married Miss Kathrina Heeron February 23, 1894, and they lived on a farm near Le Mars until 1900. He then bought a farm near Chatsworth and lived on it until 1927, when he retired and moved to Chatsworth. Mrs. Wilken died September 1, 1940, after which he lived alone until January of 1950. Since then he lived with his sons, John and Eilert. He was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran church at Chatsworth. He is survived by four sons and two daughters, William and Eilert Wilken and Mrs. Tony Bockelman of Hawarden, John of Akron, Louis of Jefferson, SD., and Mrs. Jake Vogelzang of Bristow, OK.; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran church at Akron with Rev. John Pannkuk officiating. Interment was in Riverside cemetery at Akron. The Hawarden Independent, Hawarden, IA. 2-21-1952
