Steve Emanuel as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery with lunch following at the GACC cafeteria. Elaine Ann Throener was born on August 5, 1953 to Casper and Teresa (Drueke) Luebbert in West Point. She grew up on the family farm northeast of West Point and attended Guardian Angels. After graduating West Point Central Catholic High School in 1971, Elaine continued her education at the Lincoln School of Commerce. On August 18, 1973, she married Martin Throener at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The couple farmed west of West Point and Elaine worked at Steffensmeier Trucking and the Animal Clinic in West Point. Elaine was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters where she was a former officer. She also served on the Cuming County Fair Board. Elaine was known for her love of animals and cooking tasty meals for her family to enjoy. Elaine Throener would like you to know that she received a call, not to take care of your animals, but a call with an offer that she could not refuse. This call was an offer to take a journey with no pain and no more cancer but one where she would not be returning. This assignment came with a huge bonus, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. Her new journey takes her to a wonderful place where she will have daily garage sales, gardening, endless time with her family especially her grandkids and don’t forget her beloved furry friends. Mom will continue to cook her signature meatloaf and banana bread, this time however everything she makes is calorie free. She will also get to tend gate in spirit at her beloved Cuming County fair, you better pay. She left many grocery lists, with coupons, no expiration dates, and detailed instructions for her family so that she can continue to care for them even while on her journey to eternal life with her Lord. She is excited for this journey where along the way she will meet us all again. Survivors include her husband, Marty, of West Point; daughters, Jennifer (Nick) Martinez of Brighton, CO and Vanessa Throener of West Point; son, George of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Grayson and Jillian Martinez; mother, Teresa Luebbert of West Point; sister, Donna (Erv) Renner of West Point; brothers, Al (Ann) of West Point, Norman of Eugene, OR, Michael of Council Bluffs, IA, and Glen (Vicky) of Nevis, MN. Elaine is preceded in death by her father, Casper.
