Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, at Kingery~Lemke Funeral Home, Bellevue, with the Rev. Paul Gammelin officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Bellevue. She married Charles Kucera on April 18, 1949; he preceded her in death on March 28, 1980. She worked for Ensign Coil in Bellevue for more than 30 years. Elaine always spoke her mind and had a good sense of humor. She loved her family and enjoyed life. She spent a great deal of time reading, playing cards and visiting with friends. Surviving are her five children, Diana Burkey, of Baldwin, Connie (John) Chantos and Romel (Larry) McCutcheon, both of Bellevue, Doug (Amy) Kucera, of Maquoketa, and Dan (Mary) Kucera, of Bellevue; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Maxine Specht, Betty Lou Bauer and Marilyn Headley; and a son-in-law, John Burkey.
