Description	:	STEELE — Elaine Bodvig, 80, Steele, passed away on Dec. 12, 2011, at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Steele, with the Rev. Jacob DeBoer officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Steele, with the Rev. Jacob DeBoer officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown. Elaine was born Aug. 15, 1931, in Rexine Township, Kidder County, the daughter of Johnny and Gladys (Lien) Bertsch. She attended eight years of country school and two years of high school at Heaton High and two years at Fessenden High. Elaine married the love of her life, LeRoy Bodvig, on June 24, 1950, at the country church of Pettersville. She taught school at a local township country school for a short time and one of her many additional duties was to serve as secretary/treasurer for the township board. Elaine and LeRoy lived on the Oscar Bodvig homestead farm in Buckeye Township until 1994, when they moved to the Hills farm. LeRoy passed away on May 5, 1999. Elaine moved to Steele in 2001. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Steele and the Active Seniors. Elaine was a loving and kind-hearted mom, grandma and great-grandma, who will be greatly missed. She is survived by her children, Roylene (Brian) Jacobs, Aubudon, Minn., Jim (Diana), Tappen, and Jody (Fred) Lee, Glendive, Mont.; her daughter-in-law, Karen Bodvig, Fargo; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; her sister, Wynona (Bill) Jebb, Cabot, Ark.; two sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy; her son, Rodney; her parents; two brothers, Earl and Kenton; and one sister, Bernett.
