Description	:	Elaine Constance Benson, the daughter of Elmer and Alma (Pederson) Benson was born May 26, 1922 in Sioux Falls. The family moved to Grand Forks, ND in 1931, and Elaine graduated from high school there in 1938. She moved back to Sioux Falls the following year. Elaine met Irving A. Anderson at the Arkota Ballroom and on May 16, 1942, they were united in marriage in Harrisburg, SD. The family moved to Grand Forks, ND in 1931, and Elaine graduated from high school there in 1938. She moved back to Sioux Falls the following year. Elaine met Irving A. Anderson at the Arkota Ballroom and on May 16, 1942, they were united in marriage in Harrisburg, SD. She worked for the Manchester Biscuit Company while Irving was in the service, and later worked at Mrs. Boon’s Boarding Home. Elaine then started raising her family. Irving died February 15, 1995. Elaine was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. She and Irving enjoyed bowling, dancing, and traveling. After the children were raised, Irving surprised her with a second honeymoon in Hawaii. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Irving; a daughter, Donna Oswald; a grandson, Jeffrey Anderson; seven brothers, Arnold, Virgil, Garfield, Robert, Earl, Stanley, and Alan; and three sisters, Iona Lang, Arlene Coley, and Wanda Benson.
