Description	:	"Chatt, Elizabeth Elaine She was born on June 26, 1917, on a farm near Tekamah, NE to Millie (Baker) and John Tobin Sr. At the age of 99, Elaine passed away on January 14, 2017 at Immanuel Fontenelle Home in Omaha, where she had lived since the fall of 2012. Elaine attended Country School District #2, east of Tekamah through 8th grade, and then Catholic girls' schools for the first 3 years of High School, before returning to Tekamah for her Senior year. Read More	"Chatt, Elizabeth Elaine She was born on June 26, 1917, on a farm near Tekamah, NE to Millie (Baker) and John Tobin Sr. At the age of 99, Elaine passed away on January 14, 2017 at Immanuel Fontenelle Home in Omaha, where she had lived since the fall of 2012. Elaine attended Country School District #2, east of Tekamah through 8th grade, and then Catholic girls' schools for the first 3 years of High School, before returning to Tekamah for her Senior year. During her Senior year in Tekamah, Elaine met her future husband, Bob Chatt. After graduating from High School in 1935, Elaine enrolled at Duchesne College, and graduated in 1939 with a BA in Education. She then attended Cosmetology School in St. Louis, MO, and worked as a Beautician in St. Louis, before returning to Tekamah to help her mother care for her ailing father. After Bob returned from WWII, he and Elaine reunited, and were married in Tampa, FL on October 28, 1944. While Bob was still in the military, they lived in Tampa and Washington D.C., before returning in 1946 to live in the country northwest of Tekamah where they raised their 4 children. Elaine was very active in neighborhood clubs, bridge clubs, and St. Patrick's Parish, where she was a lifelong member, catechism teacher, and a member of the Altar Society. During their retirement years, Bob and Elaine vacationed in Florida and traveled abroad, but they both enjoyed nothing more than being at home on the farm surrounded by their family, including grandchildren and great grandchildren. Elaine was well known for her delicious apple pie and carrot cake. Her neighbors and family looked forward to visiting the Chatts and enjoying her desserts. After 66 years of marriage, Bob passed away in 2011, and Elaine remained on the farm until she moved to Immanuel Fontenelle Home. Elaine is survived by her 4 children, Susan (Bill) Langley, Stephen (Kathy) Chatt, both of Tekamah, Judy (Bob) Raue of Mankato MN, and John (Candy) Chatt of Coos Bay, OR; 10 grandchildren, Matt (Jody) Langley, Brett (Marisa) Langley, Adam Langley, Rob (Sarah) Chatt, Cindy Chatt, Kristy (Chris) Chatt Consalvo, Jennifer Raue Clark, Chris (Beth) Raue, Marcy Chatt Thorp, and Melanie (Bryan) Chatt Gimbel; 26 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Burdine Tobin, Sister Adelaide Tobin, and Sister Catherine Tobin; and brother, John Tobin. FUNERAL MASS will be Tuesday, January 17, at 10:30am at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Tekamah. VISITATION Monday 5-7pm, with family Receiving friends, and VIGIL SERVICE at 7pm, all at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. VISITATION will resume at the Church 1 hour prior to Service. BURIAL in Tekamah Cemetery, Tekamah. MEMORIALS to: St. Patrick's Catholic Church; Tekamah Fire and Rescue; or Lied Tekamah Public Library. PELAN FUNERAL SERVICES TEKAMAH Tekamah, NE 402-374-1551."
