Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 14 at 10:30 a.m. in Bethesda Lutheran Church at Bristol, with the Rev. Janet Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Bristol Cemetery. She was born on Oct. 14, 1922 to Erwin and Elsie (Herr) Esche at Bristol. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Bristol. She attended school in Bristol and graduated from Bristol High School in 1941. After graduating from Aberdeen School of Commerce, she was employed at Nash-Finch Company in Aberdeen. She moved to Madison, Minn. and was employed as a bookkeeper in a local creamery. On Nov. 14, 1948 she married Dale Orr at Bristol. After their marriage the couple made their home in Bristol. She was employed at her parents' business, Esche Motor and Oil Company. In 1966 the couple also established Dale's Service. She was also the City Finance Officer of Bristol for many years. In the early 1980's their son Harold took over the family business. She entered Sun Dial Manor after the death of her husand in March 2000. She was member of Bethesda Lutheran Church where she was active in L.D.R., W.E.L.C.A. and quilting for World Relief. She belonged to the Jolly Dozen Club and the Bristol Commercial Club. Her hobbies included tating and crocheting. After the couple retired she enjoyed traveling and their cabin at Enemy Swim Lake, caring for grandchildren and going on fishing trips to Canada with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband. Survivors include one son, Harold (Marcia) Orr of Bristol; three daughters, Connie (Larry) Wagner of Webster, Deanna (Daniel) Nielsen of Eldridge, Iowa, and Faye (Tim) Berndt of Groton; one sister, Von (George) Bennett of Rapid City; thirteen grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. ___________________________________________________________ Day Co. It became Dale's Service, owned by Dale M. Orr, who was born and raised at Brentford to Mr. and Mrs. Fred Orr, and moved to Bristol in 1948 when he married Elaine Esche. He worked for Esche Motor and Oil Company for 17 years, and when Mr. Esche passed away he started in business. He sold gasoline, fuel, oil, and used cars. Dale and Elaine are active in school, city and church. Their children are: Harold, who now works for Dale's Service and also has his own trucking business; Connie Wagner of south Webster; Deanna Nielson of Pennsylvania; and Faye, all of whom received education at the Bristol School.
