Elaine was born Jan. 20, 1921 in Deuel County to Peter P. and Helen M. (Biwer) Kruse. She died in her home, 149 First Ave. So., on Saturday, Sept. 7, 1985. Elaine lived in Deuel County until moving to Brookings Countyin 1938. She moved into Brookings in 1951. She did domestic work in homes for many years, and was employed by the United Retirement Center for the past seven years. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Siants. Survivors include three brothers, Gordon of Brookings, Vergil of Pasco, Wash. and Arthur of Santa Maria, Calf.; one sister, Mrs. Duane (shirley) Rykhus of Brookings; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
