Description	:	Elaine C. Kopaska Guthrie Center Elaine Catherine Kopaska, 93, of Guthrie Center, daughter of Frank and Lillian (Cress) Tibben,was born August 27, 1917 in Audubon County, Iowa. She passed away Wednesday May 4, 2011 at Thomas Rest Homes in Coon Rapids. She grew up in Audubon County and attended school in Exria. On December 18, 1934 she married Elmer C. Kopaska Guthrie Center Elaine Catherine Kopaska, 93, of Guthrie Center, daughter of Frank and Lillian (Cress) Tibben,was born August 27, 1917 in Audubon County, Iowa. She passed away Wednesday May 4, 2011 at Thomas Rest Homes in Coon Rapids. She grew up in Audubon County and attended school in Exria. On December 18, 1934 she married Elmer C. Kopaska in Des Moines, Iowa. To this union three children were born. They made their home on a farm in Guthrie County where they farmed for 60 years. Elaine helped on the farm raising chickens and had a big garden. Elaine and Elmer enjoyed traveling, camping, dancing, playing cards with their families and going to their grandkids sporting events. Elaine was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Guthrie Center and former member of the Wichita United methodist Church in rural Guthrie Center where she was treasure for many years till the church closed. She was a 50 year member of the Eastern Star. Elaine was also a member of the Harmony Hour Club and the WRCC Club. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. To mourn her passing Elaine leaves behind her son Elmer Kopaska Jr. and wife Linda. Daughter Sandra Lopez and husband Al of Sedona, Arizonia. Son-in-Law Roger Cleven of Des Monies, IA. Eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and sister-in-law Ruth Tibben of Exira. Visitation is Sunday May 8, 2011 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Twigg Funeral Home in Guthrie Center. Funeral services are Monday May 9, 2011 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Guthrie Center, Iowa. Published in Des Moines Register on May 7, 2011
