Elaine was born on April 8, 1927, at Petersburg, the daughter of Edward R. and Marie C. (O'Neill) Mannlein. She was united in marriage to Louie J. "Bud" Hurt on June 22, 1948, at St. Paul. He preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 1982. She was united in marriage to Harry E. "Toot" Foster on Nov. 3, 1984, at Ericson. He preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 2013. She is survived by one daughter, Susan Ellston of Grand Island; one son-in-law, Jack Yarrington of Apache Junction, AZ; two step-sons and daughters-in-law, Ed and Virjean Foster of Gothenburg and Stan and Cathy Foster of Taylor; one step-daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Ron Marsh of Denver; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Florence and Virgil Clark of Fremont and Marian Potts of St. Paul; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, William "Bill" and Dinah Mannlein of Naples, FL and Gene and Anita Mannlein of Johnson Lake. She also leaves to cherish her memory four grandchildren, Ryan and Melissa Ellston of Grand Island, Jessica Goodman of Grand Island, Chris and Stephanie Yarrington of Mesa, AZ and Josh and Darcel Yarrington of Del Aire, CA; five great-grandchildren, Lilly, Jamie, Ryan, Haley and Jenna; and four step grandchildren. As a young child Elaine moved with her family to a farm northwest of St. Paul, where she grew up and attended District No. 21 country school and was a 1945 graduate of St. Paul High School. After high school she worked in Omaha and later at the ASC office in St. Paul before her marriage to Bud. She and Bud farmed near Farwell and St. Paul and in 1952 purchased a tavern in St. Paul, which they operated until 1959. She also worked for Duffy's Pharmacy in St. Paul until 1970. Bud and Elaine then moved in 1970 to the Pitzer Ranch in Ericson. After her and Toot were married they lived on a ranch near Ericson the majority of their married life. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. Elaine never met a stranger. She loved to visit and enjoyed playing cards of any kind. She also enjoyed going to rodeos and watching them on TV. Her greatest love was her family. In addition to her husbands, Bud and Toot, she was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Linda Yarrington; and granddaughter, Amie Ellston.
