Description	:	Elaine Martha Albers Dausel, the daughter of Deitrich and Laura (Petersen) Albers, was born April 26, 1920, on the family farm near Battle Creek, Iowa. She was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Midway on May 19, 1920, and confirmed March 25, 1934. She graduated from Battle Creek High School in 1938. On March 1, 1939, she married J. Harlen Dausel at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Midway. The couple farmed and raised their family of six children northwest of Battle Creek. They retired to Battle Creek in 1982. Read More	Elaine Martha Albers Dausel, the daughter of Deitrich and Laura (Petersen) Albers, was born April 26, 1920, on the family farm near Battle Creek, Iowa. She was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Midway on May 19, 1920, and confirmed March 25, 1934. She graduated from Battle Creek High School in 1938. On March 1, 1939, she married J. Harlen Dausel at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Midway. The couple farmed and raised their family of six children northwest of Battle Creek. They retired to Battle Creek in 1982. Harlen passed away in 1990. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church until transferring her membership in later years to St. John's Lutheran Church in Battle Creek. She was a faithful and dedicated member of the church, serving over the years on the Ladies Aid and as a Sunday school teacher. She was an active lady with many interests and hobbies including, crocheting, fishing, traveling, reading, square dancing and playing cards. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes basketball and Chicago Cubs fan, but her best memories were times spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. MoMo will always be remembered as the grandma with the full chocolate chip cookie jar. Mrs. Dausel died April 2, 2006, in Ida Grove, Iowa. Services were held at St. John's Lutheran Church, Battle Creek, with Rev. Rod Dunker officiating. Burial followed in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Midway, under direction of Christensen-Huffman funeral Home of Battle Creek. Survivors include six children and their spouses, Dennis and Barbara Dausel of Lillian, Alabama, Colleen and Keith Brown, Merle and Marilyn Dausel and Douglas and Paula Dausel, all of Battle Creek, Laurel and Douglas Nailor of Carson, Iowa, and Byron and Vicki Dausel of Battle Creek; fifteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Fitch of Battle Creek; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, Harlen, she was also preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter; two grandchildren, John Paul Dausel and Teresa Dausel; and three brothers, Harold, Walter and Arthur Albers.
