Mrs. Cheney was born June 22, 1925 in Waltham, MA, the daughter of Ernest H. and Mildred (Johnston) Sinclair. Mrs. Cheney lived in Laconia most of her life. She graduated from Laconia High School in 1943 and from Plymouth Teachers College, Plymouth, NH in 1947. Mrs. Cheney was born June 22, 1925 in Waltham, MA, the daughter of Ernest H. and Mildred (Johnston) Sinclair. Mrs. Cheney lived in Laconia most of her life. She graduated from Laconia High School in 1943 and from Plymouth Teachers College, Plymouth, NH in 1947. She taught English at Stevens High School in Claremont, NH and also taught 8th Grade English and History at Laconia Junior High School. Mrs. Cheney was a long time member of the St. James Episcopal Church. She was a social worker at the Belknap County Nursing Home for a number of years and was also a volunteer at the Lakes Region General Hospital for many years. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Ellen Peller, in 1997. Burial will be in the family lot at Union Cemetery, Laconia.
