Description	:	OBITUARY Elbert Eugene Poole, youngest son of Frank and Florence Poole, was born February 9, 1905, north of Howard, KS and departed his life January 20, 1965, at his home in Wichita, KS, at the age of 59 years, 11 months and 11 days. Read More	OBITUARY Elbert Eugene Poole, youngest son of Frank and Florence Poole, was born February 9, 1905, north of Howard, KS and departed his life January 20, 1965, at his home in Wichita, KS, at the age of 59 years, 11 months and 11 days. He received his schooling and grew to manhood in Elk County. Elbert never married, but stayed at home and helped with his folks on the farm. During the second World War, he worked at Portland, Oregon, then went to Hanford, Washington, where he worked for the Atomic Energy Commission. He became ill in March of 1964, while working at the Fourth National Bank in Wichita, KS, where he had worked for several years. Elbert was a very quiet and likeable person and always loved his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by this father, mother, two sisters and one brother. He leaves to mourn his death one brother, Marion Poole of Portland, Oregon; one sister, Mrs. Alice Poole Mooris of Howard, KS and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 23, at 2:00 p.m., at the Spurrier-Watt chapel, with the Rev. James Lorensen of the Howard Christian church officiating. The casket bearers were Chester Morris, Lewis Morris, Willard Morris, Ralph Armstrong, Howard Armstrong and Vern Friend. Music was furnish by Mrs. Barbara Calvert, accompanied by Mrs. Louise Morgan. Grave side services and burial were in the Cresco Cemetery. (provided by Louise Havens)
