Services will be held at 1 p.m. MST Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church, New Salem, with the Rev. Loren Strum officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, New Salem. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. MST today at Elm Crest Manor, New Salem, and from 3 to 8 p.m. MST today at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, New Salem, where a prayer service will begin at 7 p.m. MST. Visitation will continue for one hour before services at the church on Thursday. Elda Beusen was born Dec. 18, 1915, at New Salem, the daughter of Henry and Margaret (Lange) Beusen. She was raised and educated in New Salem. Elda married Nick Kautzman on Aug. 23, 1932, in Center. They lived in Oliver County for one year and then moved to New Salem until 1958. Elda and Nick then moved to the farm they purchased southeast of Judson, where she lived until moving into Elm Crest Nursing Home in New Salem. Elda was a beloved mother and grandmother. She was the last surviving aunt on the Kautzman side. Elda's life revolved around caring, looking after and cooking for her whole family. She also loved gardening and living on the farm. Elda had great faith and took comfort in God. She will be deeply missed by everyone. Elda is survived by her two daughters and two sons-in-law, DoLonnes and Roy Klaudt, Glendive, Mont., Bonnett Flemmer, Lodi, Calif., and Paul Rankin, California; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Daniel Kautzman, New Salem, and Doug and Martha Kautzman, Mandan; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; her nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Nick; two brothers, Menno and Detlev; three daughters, Winona Allen, Carole Rankin and baby Renee; one great-grandson, Brad Price; and two sons-in-law, Clayton Flemmer and James Allen.
