Description	:	Mrs. Elda Verline "Vickie" Stephens, 69, of Joplin, Missouri, departed this life on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Vickie entered this life on March 26, 1944 in Southwest City, Missouri born to the union of the late Ralph D. and Nelda (Ford) Moore. She was raised in Southwest City and was a 1962 graduate of Southwest City High School. On September 15, 1992 she was united in marriage to Bobby G. Stephens and together they have shared the last twenty years. She had worked in the warehouse for Wal-Mart for seventeen years... Read More	Mrs. Elda Verline "Vickie" Stephens, 69, of Joplin, Missouri, departed this life on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Vickie entered this life on March 26, 1944 in Southwest City, Missouri born to the union of the late Ralph D. and Nelda (Ford) Moore. She was raised in Southwest City and was a 1962 graduate of Southwest City High School. On September 15, 1992 she was united in marriage to Bobby G. Stephens and together they have shared the last twenty years. She had worked in the warehouse for Wal-Mart for seventeen years before joining Bob in the operation of the family business, Stephens Construction Company. She enjoyed working in her yard, keeping her pickup clean and caring for her home. She was of the Full Gospel Faith. Vickie is survived by her husband, Bob Stephens of the home; a son, Michael Martin of Joplin; thee stepchildren, Holly Squier and husband, Don, of Owasso, Oklahoma, Stacie Little and husband, Bob, of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Doug Stephens and wife, Debbie, of Hamilton, Texas; nine grandsons; one granddaughter; a sister, Treva Shields and husband, Duane, of Rogers, Arkansas; three nieces; four great-nephews; and three great-nieces. Funeral services for Mrs. Stephens are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at the Full Gospel Church in Southwest City, Missouri with Bro. Richard Hart officiating. Burial will follow in the Southwest City Cemetery. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Michael Martin, Jr., Charley Finney, Cliff Green, Rudy Gonzales, Tony Philpot and Craig Philpot. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at the Full Gospel Church. In lieu of flowers memorial are being directed to the church.
