The Doughty family doesn't know when William Henry Doughty's remains were removed; the records of Grace Church Tomb have disappeared. The Cemetery Sexton does say the Tomb is empty and has been empty for many years. If a genealogical detective could find these records that would be great! The creator of this Find a Grave Memorial suspects, but has no proof, the remains of his great great grandfather, William Henry Doughty, were removed from Grace Church Tomb after the spring thaw in Topsham, Maine, and buried in the Eaton Cemetery with his wife, Jedidah, and their three children who died young. No documentation has been discovered recording the relocation of William's remains, and no name or dates for William have been engraved on the family stone in the Eaton Cemetery.
