Description	:	Eldon L. Teel, 82, formerly of Salem passed away July 11, 2020, at his daughter’s home n Murphysboro, IL, surrounded by his loving family. He was retired from the United States Navy. He was of the Protestant faith. He was the former owner of Southern Gardens Laundry and Car Wash. He was a past president of Project Bread in Salem, where he enjoyed hosting Bingo. There will be a public visitation from 9:00 – 10:45 a.m. Friday, July 17 at the Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home, followed by an 11:00 am public graveside service at Summit Prairie Cemetery, rural Salem with Rev. Denise Burke officiating. Those attending are encouraged to respect social distancing due to present health concerns. Military Honors will be accorded at the graveside by the Salem American Legion Post #128. Online condolences may be left for the family at sutherlandfuneralhome.com. Surviving are his children, Gary (Mindy Wright) Teel of Salem, Colin (Michelle) Teel of St. Mary’s Georgia, and Tracy (Craig) Heins of Murphysboro, IL, along with step-children Ron Wilcox of Hortense, GA, and Kathy Wilcox, of Statesboro, GA. Eldon is also survived by his grandchildren Andrew (Jake) Sinclair of New Orleans, LA, Ryan (Sara) Sinclair of Salem, IL Chapyn Teel of Salem, IL, Ashley, Duncan and Christian Teel of St. Mary’s, GA, and great-grandchildren Clementine and Penelope Sinclair and June Teel Barnett. Also left to mourn his passing is a brother Steven (Sue) Teel of Kalispell, Montana, brother-in-law Wayne Buell of Las Vegas, NV., nephew Patrick Buell and his family of Las Vegas, NV and his former wife Marilyn R. Teel of St. Mary’s, GA. Born November 25, 1937, in Havre, Montana, he was the son Glee Eldon and Velta W. (Hamon) Teel. He married Marilyn R. Duncan, July 16, 1960, in Salem and they later divorced. In 1987, he united in marriage with Voncil (Howard) Durrence in Georgia and she preceded him in death on June 25, 2015. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Buell, on August 24, 2017.
