Description	:	Eldon Wayne Fagen, the sone of Howard and Nellie Roberts Fagen, was born January 3, 1925 on a farm west of Rossie, Iowa. His early years were spent on a farm south of Spencer. He graduated from Cornell High School in 1943. He was drafted in 1950 and was stationed at Ft. Lee in Petersburg, Virginia, where he met Floy Hargrave. Following his discharge, they married on September 21, 1952 and returned to Clay County to farm. They moved to Spencer in 1957, where he worked at Spencer Foods in the "cooler" until his retirement in 1978. Eldon enjoyed visiting with people... They moved to Spencer in 1957, where he worked at Spencer Foods in the "cooler" until his retirement in 1978. Eldon enjoyed visiting with people and never met a stranger, especially if talking about something mechanical, such as an auto, boat or camper. He was an avid walleye fisherman, pheasant hunter and golfer. He was an active "walker" following his heart attack in 1978, for many years at the area's two malls. He was also an active volunteer at the Senior Center and the American Legion. Eldon passed away at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD on Monday, June 20, 2005 at the age of 80. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Ardail.
