| Description | : | Parents: William Holloway, Sr & Mary On April 3, 1827, the Crawford set sail from Providence enroute to Havana, Cuba with Eldred Holloway on board. The ship returned on July 17, 1827 with its cargo and his body. Eldred possibly was killed by pirates, mutinous crew members, or political unrest of the time. William Holloway, the father of Eldred built the sloop Resolution on Academy Cove. Capt. William traveled between Newport & Wickford on the sloop.
