Eldred Raymond Busche was born July 29, 1921 south of Litchville in Prairie Township, the son of Louis and Amanda (Wagner) Busche. His school days were spent in the Prairie Township #4 School. As a young man, he worked for Charles Hartman and Mr. Fred Miller. On January 28, 1949, he was united in marriage to Katherina Rienstra at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Rienstra. They farmed there for many years. They also ran a dairy farm. After semi-retiring, they moved to Valley City and then to Lake Park, Minnesota. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Farmers Union. Farming was Eldred’s livelihood, he enjoyed going to threshing bees. Family get-togethers were always a special occasion. He was a very caring and loving husband, father and grandfather. He also liked to play cards, especially pinochle, and dancing. Eldred is survived by his wife, Katherina of Lake Park, Minnesota; sons, Greg (Dawn) of Sheridan, Wyoming, Gary of Moorhead, Minnesota; Kevin (Beth) of West Fargo, North Dakota; daughters, Eldean Busche of Mesa, Arizona and Susan (Kevin) Hoefs of Bismarck, North Dakota; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers; Gerhardt Busche of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, Benjamin (Frances) Busche of Mesa, Arizona; a sister, Lillie Vanderbusch, of Arthur, North Dakota. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Clara Lenssen, and a brother, Aaron; an infant son; and two grandchildren.
