Sidley, age 78, of Geneva, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2014, at Rae Ann Geneva Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Born August 15, 1936, in Jefferson, Ohio, she was the daughter of Elsie (Buscher) and John J. Diemer. She married Stewart A. Sidley, in Jefferson, on May 21, 1955. Sidley, age 78, of Geneva, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2014, at Rae Ann Geneva Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Born August 15, 1936, in Jefferson, Ohio, she was the daughter of Elsie (Buscher) and John J. Diemer. She married Stewart A. Sidley, in Jefferson, on May 21, 1955. Eleanor was a 1954 graduate of Jefferson High School. She was a member of Assumption Catholic Church since 1958, where she taught CCD for 38 years, worked as the Administrative Secretary for 30 years and was a member of the Assumption School Endowment Board, and Associate of the Nuns of Notre Dame. Eleanor was also a member of Austinburg Grange for over 60 years and worked for the USDA for over 17 years. She enjoyed hosting small Christian groups in her home, and loved writing stories and poetry. She is survived by her brothers, Paul (Shirley) Diemer of Chino Valley, Ariz. and John S. (Caryl) Diemer of Lenox Township; as well as her sister, Elsie Jean Haughn of Munsie, Ind. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Stewart; her parents; infant son, Robert Roy; and sister, Rita LaPoint. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, August 19th, at BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 20th, at Assumption Catholic Church, 594 W. Main St., Geneva. Committal Service will take place at Oakdale Cemetery in Jefferson. Contributions in Eleanor’s name may be made to Assumption Catholic Church, 594 W. Main St., Geneva, Ohio44041.
