Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bellevue. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. She was born on March 31, 1912, in Springbrook, daughter of John and Cecilia (Klosterman) Rubel. She married Walter N. Kilburg on Oct. 2, 1934, in Springbrook; he preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 2006. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and its rosary society. Eleanor was a leader. She worked hard and was always willing to give. She was a devoted wife, mother and Christian. In her early years, she enjoyed dancing with her husband and friends. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening and playing cards with family and friends. She will be deeply missed. Those left to honor her memory are her children, Darwin (Barb Roeder) Kilburg, of De Witt, Mary Lois (Tom) Kueter, of Peosta, Doris (Don) Medinger, of Bellevue, and Arla (Terry) Hodgkinson, of Orlando, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by four brothers, Roland, Edward, John and William; and two sisters, Emma Walz and Viola Kilburg.
