Committal services will follow in the Roselawn Cemetery in Glenmora under the guidance of White Oaks Funeral Home of Oakdale Mrs. Grantham, 88, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother was called to be with her Lord on Saturday, November 29, 2008 in her residence. She was born on March 10, 1920 in Glenmora, to the union of Henry and Cassie Burgin Martin, who preceded her in death, along with one son, Calvin Grantham, two sisters, May Deville and Ethel Yancey, three brothers, George Martin, Johnny Martin, and Henry Martin, one grandson, Warren Grantham, and one great grandchild, Serena Courtlyn Byrd. She spent most of her life in Glenmora and the last year of her life with her daughter, Norma, and son-in-law, Ken in Sulphur. She married her loving husband, Elmer Clay Grantham in 1934. They were married for 61 years. He preceded her in death in 1995. They are survived by six children, Joy Faye Sharp & husband, Ray of Turkey Creek, Joyce Lee Neissingh & husband Chris of Mt. Upton, New York, Norma Mere Blackwell & husband Ken of Sulphur, Elmer Clay Grantham & wife, Nelda of Glenmora, Judy Arlene Crooks & husband, Randy of Topsey, and Brenda Marquez & husband, David of Glenmora; one brother, Matt Adolf Martin & wife, Iris Lee of Glenmora. She actively participated in her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren's lives whenever possible. In her latter years, she was a taxi to some and a caregiver to many in her neighborhood. She enjoyed cooking meals and delivering them to some, taking friends for haircuts, to the library, the bank, and to church on Sunday. Faithfully attending church and helping others was her passion and joy in life. In her spare time, she loved to cook, garden, cut and sew quilts. She gave many of her quilts to family and friends, so that they can remember her and one of her passions in life. Pallbearers to serve will be Kenneth Sharpe, Steve Sharpe, Darrell Sharpe, Todd Sharpe, Randy Sharpe, Wayne Niessingh, David George, and Jerrod Campbell.
