Eleanor passed away on Jan. 11, 2004, at Harbor Crest Home, Fulton, Ill. Eleanor was born May 3, 1924, in Riverside, Iowa, the daughter of Alan and Arleigh (Buchwalter) Frost. She was a 1941 graduate of Riverside High School. She then attended the University of Iowa and Mount St. Clare College. She was employed as a corporate secretary for the AC Root Agency that was founded in 1854, where she actively worked until December 2003. She was previously employed as a personnel manager and buyer at Dairy Pak. Eleanor Frost married John H. Root on June 17, 1949, at First United Methodist Church, Clinton. She was a member of Clinton Republican Women, Lyons Club, and PEO, Chapter of J.W. She enjoyed playing bridge and bowling and was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan. Survivors include her husband, John; one son, Alan (Dana) Root, Carmel, Ind.; one daughter, Jean (John) Lehmkuhl, LaPorte, Texas; one brother, Robert C. (Mary) Frost, Richardson, Texas; also by five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. (Source: Quad City Times)
