Description	:	Eleanor L. Barber of Sullivan, Missouri, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2008 at the age of 84 years. Eleanor was born on May 10, 1924 at Elgin, North Dakota to the late Adolph and Emma Lydia (Hintz) Sprenger. She was a resident of the Elgin area many years and, for a time, taught school before her marriage to Clinton Diehl in December of 1945. Read More	Eleanor L. Barber of Sullivan, Missouri, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2008 at the age of 84 years. Eleanor was born on May 10, 1924 at Elgin, North Dakota to the late Adolph and Emma Lydia (Hintz) Sprenger. She was a resident of the Elgin area many years and, for a time, taught school before her marriage to Clinton Diehl in December of 1945. Eleanor and Clinton raised 12 children on a small farm near Elgin and after moving from the farm she later became a custodian and worked in various places which included a furniture store, funeral home, the local school and her church. Eleanor later took courses in Health Sciences and became a home health nurse until moving to Sullivan, Missouri. She was known as a generous and giving individual who had a patient disposition. She made sure her children and those around her knew of the plan of Salvation and also taught the Bible and its wondrous stories to her family. Music was also an important part of her life and she was an accomplished auto harpist. Eleanor was a member of Hope Conservative Congregational Church in Elgin and after the death of her husband Clinton in July of 1984, moved to Sullivan, Missouri where she became a devoted member of Temple Baptist Church. She often volunteered to help with vacation bible school and was involved in other various activities at the church. In March of 1994, Eleanor was united in marriage to Pallard Barber and he too, preceded her in death in August of 2005. She is survived by twelve children. Along with those previously mentioned, Eleanor was preceded in death by one grandson, Nathaniel Otto; a great-grandson, Christian Omoresemi; two brothers, Ervin and Almore Sprenger and three sisters, Viola and Ruth Sprenger and Loretta Vetter. Funeral services were conducted 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 19, 2008 from Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan with Pastor Scott Perry officiating and then on Wednesday, May 21st at 11:00 a.m. at the Hope Conservative Congregational Church in Elgin, North Dakota with Pastor Frederick Sprenger officiating. Interment was in Hope Congregational Cemetery, Elgin, North Dakota.
