On Oct. 30, 1944, she married Paul Baird. He died April 1, 1997. Mrs. Baird taught school for more than 30 years, retiring from the Mediapolis School District. She was a graduate of Hopkinton High School and Lenox College in Hopkinton. On Oct. 30, 1944, she married Paul Baird. He died April 1, 1997. Mrs. Baird taught school for more than 30 years, retiring from the Mediapolis School District. She was a graduate of Hopkinton High School and Lenox College in Hopkinton. She was a member of Sharon Reformed Presbyterian Church, Retired Teachers Association, Mediapolis Study Club, Women's Missionary Society, Farm Bureau Women, Home Club, Bridge Club and was active in the National Honor Society. She was a part of the Round Robin Club from high school. Survivors include many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. Visitation will be from noon to 6:30 p.m. today at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Morning Sun, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Baird will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sharon Reformed Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Ron Good officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Church Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the Eleanor Baird Scholarship Fund for a future teacher.
