Mrs. Allison was taken ill at her home, 834 First avenue SE, some time previous and when pneumonia developed was removed to the hospital. Mrs. Allison was taken ill at her home, 834 First avenue SE, some time previous and when pneumonia developed was removed to the hospital. Eleanor Smithurst was born in New Whittington, Derbyshire, England, March 17, 1874, and came to United States when 18 years of age. She was married to John Allison May 20, 1894, and lived on farms northeast of LeMars until eighteen years ago when they moved to LeMars. Three daughters and three sons were born to this union, one son, John, dying four years ago. The surviving children are Mrs. Henry Remer, Mrs. Wm. Hodgson, Mrs. G. R. Bowers, Oscar and Arthur Allison, all of this community. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and two sisters and a brother living in England. Since their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Allison had made two trips to England, the last only two years ago. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon with services at the house at 2 o'clock and at the First Methodist Episcopal church at 2:30, Rev. W. M. Hubbard, the pastor, officiating. Mrs. Allison had lived in this community for almost a half century. She was a devoted wife and mother and was a faithful member of the First Methodist Episcopal church for many years.
