Description	:	Eleanor Sailer, 90, Bismarck, passed away April 26, 2011, at the Baptist Home. Private family services were held. Eleanor was born March 21, 1921, in Mercer County, the daughter of Gottlieb and Julia (Madke) Weil. She married Edmar Sailer on Aug. 28, 1942, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stanton. Five children were born to this union. Eleanor was a busy housewife and mother, raising her children. She had huge gardens of vegetables and beautiful flower beds. Read More	Eleanor Sailer, 90, Bismarck, passed away April 26, 2011, at the Baptist Home. Private family services were held. Eleanor was born March 21, 1921, in Mercer County, the daughter of Gottlieb and Julia (Madke) Weil. She married Edmar Sailer on Aug. 28, 1942, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stanton. Five children were born to this union. Eleanor was a busy housewife and mother, raising her children. She had huge gardens of vegetables and beautiful flower beds. Along with this, she was a fabulous baker and cook and shared it all with others. Eleanor made beautiful quilts for all her children and grandchildren and was active in the quilting circle at Trinity Lutheran Church. The last few years Eleanor had been a resident at the Baptist Home and considered this her home and looked upon the staff as her "extended family." She was so active at the home with activities; her family teased her about being the "social butterfly" at the home. The home and staff provided a wonderful quality of life for a big part of her declining years. Eleanor is survived by her daughter, Joyce; her son, Rick; her daughters-in-law, Sharon and Connie; and three grandchildren, Heather, Landon, and Sheldon and his fiance, Jen. She is also survived by her sister, Alma; brother, Elmer; and two sisters-in-law, Edna and Alice. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Janice; two sons, Maynard and Jerry; a granddaughter, Cherish; great-granddaughter, Hartley; and four brothers, Rueben, Otto, Irvin and Melvin. Eleanor's family wants to thank the staff of the Baptist Home for their wonderful care and devotion to their mother and grandmother. The family requests no flowers and a donation may be made to the Baptist Home in memory of Eleanor Sailer.
