Description	:	Eleanore Edna Neumann Aune died April 27, 2011. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Steve Sathre officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. She was born Sept. 14, 1927, at Elgin, to John and Christina (Baisch) Neumann. She was raised and educated in Elgin, serving as class president of Elgin High graduating class of 1945. After high school, Eleanore moved to Bismarck, where she worked for J&B Confectionery and Western Union Telegraph Company. On March 6, 1948, Eleanore married Eugene (Gene) Aune, after which she worked part-time at Margaret Yegen's grocery store. From 1971 until her retirement in 1996, Eleanore worked for the North Dakota State University Extension Service as a nutrition program assistant. Long before farmer's markets were popular in the Bismarck area, Eleanore, Gene and their family were a source of fresh produce for many households. This family truck farm required many hours of "slave labor" by their daughters. As the years passed, they were joined in the garden by Bob (their son-in-law), Jennifer and John (grandchildren) and dear friend, George Kuntz. Through the truck farm many long-lasting friendships were built with the customers who drove out to shop. Eleanore was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bismarck, where she is remembered for the many years during which she catered the monthly men's club dinners with simple, good food and fresh baked bread. She was a Scout Leader and a supporter of 4-H. Eleanore believed and lived the Golden Rule; do unto others as you would have others do unto you. She enjoyed playing the piano, working crossword puzzles, tending flowers and playing board games and card games with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is remembered as a woman of great strength and even greater wit; a person who found personal reward in feeding people, a person who quietly reached out with a helping hand. Eleanore was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. She is survived by her daughters and one son-in-law, Patricia Aune, Karen Wardner, and Beth (Johnathan) Campbell, all of Bismarck, and Mary Lou Aune, Beulah; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Kenny) Heck, Mandan, John Wardner, Bismarck, Eugene Aune, Fargo, and Jimmy Sedlemeyer, Bismarck; and two great-grandchildren, Shayla Heck and Alec Wardner. She is also survived by her sisters, Irene Kaster and June (Leslie) Jensen and brother, Calvin Neumann. Eleanore's extended family is large; in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins too numerous to name, yet dear to her heart. She also counted her dear friends as family in spirit, if not in blood. Eleanore's family is especially grateful for one of her newest friends, Evelyn Boldt, who truly has been one of God's angels, caring for Eleanore with tenderness and laughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; her son-in-law, Robert Wardner; her parents; six brothers, Art, Johnny, Walter, Richard, Norman and infant brother, Victor; and eight sisters, Emma Haas, Molly Fox, Esther Nielsen, Elsie Smith, Erna Parker, Myrt Wilson, Alma Dachtler and Lily Neumann.
