Description	:	Obituary published in The Union Herald, of Union, Cass County, Nebraska, in April 1901: "Eleazer Bales, a resident of this vicinity for a number of years, died Wednesday morning, April 3, (1901) at Lincoln where he had been making his home the past few years. The remains were shipped here last Friday, arriving on the noon train, and Saturday they were interred in the Wyoming Cemetery where his wife had been laid to rest about ten years ago. Mr. Bales was well known in this part of the county, he having resided at Factoryville a number of years before Union became a town. Since the death of his wife, which occurred about ten years ago, he has lived among his relatives most of the time. He was always a kind and sociable old gentleman for whom everybody had the greatest respect, and his death was a matter of regret among his many friends in this village." - - - - - - - - - - Old Wyoming Cemetery, Otoe County, Nebraska: This cemetery is located in a farm field on private property, 0.75 mile to the south and 0.3 mile to the east of the intersection of 60th and 'A' roads. The cemetery no longer exists. All grave stones have either been removed, or have deteriorated. A historical marker now stands at the site. (https://ocgsne.org/index.php/old-wyoming-cemetery) -- It also has been known as the Pitzer Family Farm Cemetery and the Mormon Trail burial site. - - - - - - - - - - Eleazer/Eleazar Bales was born in Mooresville, Morgan County, Indiana, based on the BLM Land Patent issued to his father, William Bales for a homestead in Morgan County, near Mooresville on 20 August 1823, the year of Eleazer's birth. --- He married Lucinda Cook on 14 October 1841 in Indiana. Nine children were born from this marriage: 1.) Sarah Jane (Bales) Hughey (1843 - 1898), 2.) William A. Bales (1845 - 1910), 3.) Lydia M. Bales (1849 - 1886), 4.) Addison C. Bales (b. ca. 1852), 5.) Stephen O. Bales (1857 - 1912), 6.) Maranda Bales (b. ca. 1860), 7.) Hattie (Bales) Cook (b. 1862), 8.) Mollie M. (Bales) Feather (1866 - 1950) 9.) Edward C. Bales (b. ca. 1870). Eleazer Bales died at the home of his daughter Mollie (Bales) Feather in Lincoln, Nebraska.
