Description	:	The death of Mrs. P. P. Curtis occurred at her home in Ryan on Sunday, November 30th, 1913, following a lingering illness. Electa Mallory was born in Perry county, Indiana, September 28, 1828. In the year 1844 her father moved the family from Indiana to Jones county, Iowa. Electa Mallory was united in marriage with Mr. John Worley in August 1st, 1846. To this union were born ten children, six of whom survive their mother. The surviving children are Mrs. Martha A. On February 11th, 1874, Mrs. Worley was united in marriage with P. P. Curtis. Mr. Curtis death occurred in February, 1907.Mrs. Curtis was a member of one of the early pioneer families of Delaware county, and endured the hardships and privations which all early settlers experienced. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and was a regular attendant upon the services until ill health prevented.The funeral services were held at the home Tuesday morning, Rev. Mr. Snyder officiating. Interment was made in the Golden Prairie cemetery.The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of their many friends. Manchester Democrat - Manchester, Iowa - December 3, 1913
