Leap of Kolin and resident of Lewistown for many years who died at the St. Joseph's hospital Wednesday, following a relatively brief illness. The Rev. W.S. Traweek of the Methodist church conducted the services, and paid a beautiful tribute to the life of the departed who during her over one third of a century's residence in Fergus county had done much to make others happy. During the services Mrs. Dick Strobel sang "I Come To the Garden Alone" and another special request number. She was accompanied at the chapel organ by Mrs. Richard Lausch. The floral remembrances were of much beauty, and many friends accompanied the casket to the Lewistown city cemetery where burial was made. Born June 29, 1860, in Viroqua, Wis., Mrs. Barrington moved with her parents when eight years of age to Massina, Ia., where she attended school and was married to Thomas Tobasinski, who preceded her in death 56 years ago. She was later married to Bert Barrington and came west to Montana and Fergus county in 1906. Mr. Barrington passed away seven years ago in Great Falls. For a number of years Mrs. Barrington has resided in Lewistown at 415 1/2 North Elm street. She loved to do fancy work and kept at it to the last and during her long residence here acquired a wide circle of friends who sincerely regret her passing. Survivors include the one daughter, Mrs. C.E. Leap of Kolin, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Thank you. This is from my great grandmother's news clippings collection. Correction is from Stender-Custer # 47288119 in September of 2015. ------------------------------------------------------------ Electa Walch, divorced, married Burt Burington (sic)Aug 25, 1930. The marriage license is wrong. His name was Barrington. Her parents, it says, are Weidener (it was Widner) and Thamer Merton (it was Morton) It says both Electa and Bert are 50, but that makes them born in 1880 and Electa was born in 1860. Her father died in 1863 in the Civil War. Her obit says they married and then moved to Montana, but she and Bert were married in Christina, Montana.
