Description	:	The funeral of Mrs. Elemine Leese, whose death occurred Tuesday evening of last week, was held in the Methodist Episcopal Church at Grant City at 2 o'clock last Thursday afternoon. A brief service was held at the home. The Rev. John Caldwell, of Auburn, delivered the funeral discourse. Mrs. Bessie Hamrick, Mrs. Carrie Kent, Mrs. Maude Pelly and Mrs. Flava Hook, with Mrs. Harriet Hamrick as accompanist, sang "It Is Well with My Soul", "Face to Face" and "The Old Rugged Cross". The pallbearers were Charles Kent. J.S. Birt, James Simpson, John Hamilton, Will Hook and John Schultz. She was laid to rest beside the husband of her youth in the Cottonwood cemetery at Lake City. Out of town relatives present at the last rites were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Leese and family, of Lake View, Mr. and Mrs. D.L. Miner and family of Storm Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wee and daughter of Elkhart, Mr. and Mrs. F.H. Taylor and two children of Columbus, Nebr., Mr. and Mrs. Jens Jensen and Mr. Ray Deibert and mother, Mrs. Flora Deibert, all of Sac City, and Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Fishman of Cherokee. Elemine Snyder was born Feb. 15, 1859, at Schuykill Haven, Penn., and died July 13, 1926, at the house of her daughter, Mrs. Bertha Pease, in Grant City. She was aged 67 years, 5 months and 28 days. She came from Pennsylvania with her parents to Iowa when ten years of age, and grew to womanhood in Sac County. In 1879, she was united in marriage to Adam Leese, of Lisbon, Iowa. Later they moved to their farm southwest of Grant City. After seven years of residence there, they lived at Grant City, Auburn and later at Lake City, where her husband died in February of 1896, leaving 5 young children to her care. Her home for the last 15 years has been in Lake View, although much of her time has been spent at the homes of her daughters, Laura and Bertha, during the past few years. She leaves to mourn her departure her five children, namely, Mrs. Laura Minor of Storm Lake, Mrs. Mable Wee, of Elkhart, Mrs. Oma Taylor, of Columbus, Nebr., Mrs. Bertha Pease, of Grant City snd Fred Leese of Lake View. Also 13 grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Jens Jenson of Sac City, a half-sister, Mrs. N.D. Wintersteen, of Boskey Dell, Ill., and a half-brother, D.H. Snyder of Windom, Minn., besides nine nieces and six nephews, several cousins and an aged aunt in Pennsylvania. Years ago Mrs. Leese became a member of the Presbytarian church at Ulmer and has remained faithful to the end. She has been a wonderful mother, taking the place of both parents to her own young children, and later caring for others that needed her. She was very patient in suffering during the past two years, hiding her own pain and sorrow that others might not need to share it with her. The end came suddenly, but very peacefully, seemingly without pain, "as one who wraps the draperies of his couch about him and lies down to pleasant dreams". The cause of her death was failure of the heart. She was a kind and cheerful friend and a good neighbor. Besides her relatives she leaves a host of friends to mourn her death.
