Feb. 9, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Hannover, with the Rev. Greg Zillinger officiating. Burial will be in the Hannover Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. today at Elm Crest Nursing Home, New Salem, and will continue from 3 to 8 p.m. at the church in Hannover. Elenore Friederike Maria Dorothea (Ella) Henke was born Aug. 10, 1906, at Hannover, the daughter of Dietrich F. and Caroline (Michaels) Henke. Raised and educated there, she married Herman Hintz Oct. 26, 1930 at the same church, St. Peter's Lutheran, where she was baptized and confirmed. Herman died in 1990. Ella was a life long member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, where she was active with the LWML and the Ladies Afternoon Bible Class. She had a great love of music and had been the church organist for many years, also sang in the choir. Ella was a long time Sunday school teacher. Her hobbies included gardening, baking, quilting and crocheting. She had been a resident of Elm Crest for the past six years. Surviving Ella are her daughters and sons-in-law, Arlene (Ron) Varille, Apple Valley, Minn., and Carol (Bob) Pouti of Bloomington, Minn.; her sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne (Candy) of Brighton, Colo., Eldon (Judy), Hannover, and Lilly Henke and her husband, Ray, Hannover; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Hintz; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her parents; her husband, Herman; and her son, Harlan, preceded her in death. (Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan)
