Description	:	Unity – Eli Edgecomb York, 86, one of the most highly regarded citizens of the town, died at his home Monday, April 24, 1939. He was born in Monroe, the son of Samuel and Susan Richie York. After he married Louise Hall of Brooks, they lived on Unity Plantation moving to the village 15 years later and resided here since. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Nellie Van Deets who lives here; two sons, Everett B. York of Brewer and Eugene E. York of Winthrop four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were at the residence Wednesday afternoon by Rev. Mr. Dalzell with a large attendance. There were many Floral Tributes. The bearers were Everett and Eugene York, J. C. Van Deets and Masters York. Interment was in the Pond Cemetery.
