Description	:	Ela Berdahl, daughter of Ingebrigt and Gertrude Berdahl, was born Jan. 25, 1854, in Feios i Sogn, Norway. Being one of 14 children, she was sent, at the age of 6 years, to live with her aunt and uncle, the late Mr. and Mrs. Edlend Sime, parents of Mr. T. E. Sime of Ridgeway. With Mr. and Mrs. Sime she came to America at the age of 13 years, and lived with them until she was confirmed. She was confirmed in the old Egge church by Rev. Nils Brandt. Being one of 14 children, she was sent, at the age of 6 years, to live with her aunt and uncle, the late Mr. and Mrs. Edlend Sime, parents of Mr. T. E. Sime of Ridgeway. With Mr. and Mrs. Sime she came to America at the age of 13 years, and lived with them until she was confirmed. She was confirmed in the old Egge church by Rev. Nils Brandt. After her confirmation, she shifted for herself, seeking employment wherever she could find it, and previous to her marriage spent three years in Chicago. Jan. 25, 1875, she was married to Andrew P. Anderson of this community, they being the second couple married in the old Lincoln church by the late Rev. Nels Brandt. They settled on a farm, five miles south of Ridgeway, which Mr. Anderson had previously bought, and lived there until the spring of 1920, when they moved to Ridgeway, and have resided since. Eleven children were born to this union, five having preceded their mother in death. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon from the home and at the Lincoln church. 7, Page 8
