Description	:	Eli Greenlee was the son of John Greenlee and Elizabeth Sunderland. He was born in Tennessee near Rutledge. He married Mary Daniel on February 15, 1829. He sold his land in Tennessee in 1844, and moved to Holt County, Missouri, where he bought land on November 3, 1859. Eli had favored the south during the Civil War, and was persecuted very strongly by the other locals whose smypathies were with the North. Their crops were burned and their livestock driven off. He was born in Tennessee near Rutledge. He married Mary Daniel on February 15, 1829. He sold his land in Tennessee in 1844, and moved to Holt County, Missouri, where he bought land on November 3, 1859. Eli sold his land in Missouri moved to Fremont County, Iowa sometime about 1863. There his first land transaction shows be bought 60 acres for the sum of $600 on June 21, 1867. His last land transaction was on March 1, 1892 when he and Mary went to live with their daughter Nancy Langston. In a book entitled "History of Fremont County", Elis was listed as a member of the organization called "The Bee Keepers Association in 1873. This organization had marketed tons of the very best honey available. Eli was 91 years old when he died. He had become so feeble that he requited constant help, which was kindly afforded him by his son James.
