Irelan, son of William and Mary Irelan, was born near Cincinnati, Iowa, Jan. 20, 1865, and departed his life April 26, 1946 at his home in Cincinnati, Iowa, at the age of 81 years, 3 months and 6 days. He was married to Filena Catherine Beer in the year 1882, who died May 23, 1916. He was also preceded in death by one daughter and one son in infancy. He was married to Filena Catherine Beer in the year 1882, who died May 23, 1916. He was also preceded in death by one daughter and one son in infancy. One daughter, Mrs. Estella May Wright Oct. 23, 1918, and one son, George E. Irelan, Aug. 1, 1944. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Walter Curl of eight miles south west of Cincinnati and Miss Ruth Irelan who still is at home and cared for her father during his years of sickness. One sister, Mrs. Laura Easmond of Golden, Colo., 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He had been a resident of Cincinnati for 70 years, a member of the Christian church. He was a retired farmer and coal miner also marshall and constable for the town of Cincinnati for several years. He then was in the transfer and drayline business for a period of 10 years. The last five years he was associated with his son, George E. Irelan, retiring in 1924 because of ill health. He will always be remembered as a kind and loving father. Funeral services were held at the Christian church Sunday at 3 p.m. with Rev. J. D. Noland of Unionville, Mo., officiating. Pallbearers were the grandsons, Lloyd Curl, Edgar Curl, George Irelan, Jr., and Jack Heifner. The singers were the Kelley sisters of Cincinnati.
