When he was four years old his parents moved to Pawnee, Harrison County, Mo. He spent the largest part of his life living at Pawnee and moved from there to Hatfield, Mo., in 1910. Read More	H/O Bessie Oral Ballew. Longevity- 76-3-23. ELIAS MARK BELL Elias Mark Bell was born February 19, 1871, in Clark County, Indiana, of pioneer parents, Indiana and Gabriel Bell. When he was four years old his parents moved to Pawnee, Harrison County, Mo. He spent the largest part of his life living at Pawnee and moved from there to Hatfield, Mo., in 1910. He selected Lamoni for his home in 1922 following his retirement. It was in Pawnee that he married Josephine A. Conner, on October 19, 1891. Their home was blessed with four children, Everett Bell, who passed from this life on May 29 of this year; Mrs. Lulu Nelson of Lebanon, Mo.; Mrs. Myrtle Sears, of Paola, Kans.; and Elmer Bell, of Gallatin, Mo. His companion, Josephine, preceded him in death, passing from this life on January 29, 1929, 7 years after they moved to Lamoni. Eleven years later he married Bessie Barrett and again suffered the loss of his companion when she died May 18, 1946. On May 18, 1902, he was baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and conducted himself as a faithful member until his life was finished and the race won. He passed from this life June 11, 1947, at the age of 76 years, 3 months, and 23 days. In addition to his three children who survive him, he leaves to mourn his passing six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five brothers, George of Greeley, Colo.; Dave, of Cheyenne, Wyo.; Jason, of Lamoni; Virgil, of Wray, Colo.; and John, of Paola, Kans.; two sisters, Ida Daum, of Lamoni and Lulu Thrailkill of Eagleville, Mo. Thus is recorded the passing of Elias Mark Bell, whose life span covered a large portion of the pioneer years of Missouri and Iowa.
