Description	:	Aunt Elinor died peacefully at the Kent Specialty Care Center in Kent, CT. She leaves one son and his wife. She was predeceased by her husband George S. Labaddia Rose. She also leaves 2 living brothers and 3 living sisters, many nieces, nephews and friends. The following was written and read at her eulogy by a niece: ELINOR ROSE Aunt Elinor enjoyed the simple pleasures life has to offer. The following was written and read at her eulogy by a niece: ELINOR ROSE Aunt Elinor enjoyed the simple pleasures life has to offer. Baking, reading her bible, watching the Red Sox, doing embroidery and visiting with family and friends were favorite activities. Another favorite was golf. Elinor loved the game of golf. She would spend many hours on the course perfecting her swing and enjoying the scenery and later watching the game on TV. And that takes patience. Her life was like a golf tournament complete with eagle and double eagle moments. There were days and times when she would be way over par but in general she was well below par (in golf you want the lowest score). Her eagle moments included marriage to George Rose and birth of her son and raising him, living in Altoona, PA, attending this church as a young girl and membership of the Bakerville Methodist Congregation, lunches with her buddies and visiting with her family especially her sisters and nieces. Elinor meant a lot to our family and helped us on many occasions. She would visit in Alabama when most of us kids were born. And there are a lot of us so she was a frequent visitor. One would think by the time I came a long she would have been used to the routine. Apparently the day I decided to arrive coincided with Kathie's Blue Bird performance. As the signs of my arrival were imminent Aunt Elinor frantically gathered the hospital bag while Mama cooked a meal for the family, took the clothes off the line, arranged child care and finished sewing Kathie's outfit. Despite pleas from Elinor, Mama would not detour from her tasks. All jobs complete Mama & Elinor drove off to the hospital; of course leaving the bag that Elinor had packed and this was an era when one would stay in the hospital for a week and needed supplies. Up until a year ago whenever there was something going on in any of our families Elinor was there, always ready to help no matter what it was-A birthday party, a shower, of course all the weddings, picnics, graduations and reunions. She was always there. Helping in anyway. She did her share of babysitting, dog-sitting and even cat sitting. Two years ago she was able to join us on our family Christmas weekend. In a 12 bedroom house full of 30 something people she enjoyed every minute including the pool and hot tub. I was privileged to experience a few of Aunt Elinor's lucid moments during the last few weeks. After returning to The Kent from UCONN she profusely thanked Ruthie and me for bringing her back. "It's good." And her last week, one day she was euphoric, expressing her love for the children. "You kids are great. I love you. Tell the twins and the younger boy, I love you all. Ruthie has been helpful, tell her I love her. And my boy, I love him." As she said all this in a strong voice her eyes sparkled and with a smile on her face, I realized she was at peace. She has reached the eighteenth hole. The circle of life is complete she has returned to the beginning. She has come home.
