Description	:	Elsie Joan Mills Martin, 69, the widow of James Bennie Martin, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 1, 2020 at McLeod Health. Mrs. Martin was born the daughter of Steven William Mills, Jr. and Alice Gwendolyn Mixon Mills on October 11, 1950 in Andrews. She was a retired LPN with Georgetown Health Care and Rehabilitation. She was a member of the Andrews Church of God where she faithfully served in the Ladies Auxiliary and the Young at Heart. She enjoyed fishing and going camping in her camper. Mrs. Martin was born the daughter of Steven William Mills, Jr. and Alice Gwendolyn Mixon Mills on October 11, 1950 in Andrews. She was a retired LPN with Georgetown Health Care and Rehabilitation. She was a member of the Andrews Church of God where she faithfully served in the Ladies Auxiliary and the Young at Heart. She enjoyed fishing and going camping in her camper. Her greatest love and enjoyment was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. She is survived by a daughter, Erica Martin Turner (Walter); five grandchildren, Randi Newton (Patrick), Shane Turner (Pearl), Levi Turner, Donna Turner, and Jakob Turner; a great-granddaughter, Carlynn Newton; and two brothers, Dennis Mills (Diane) and Danny Mills (Wanda). She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; a brother, Randy Mills; and a sister, Debbie Mills. A Home Going Celebration will be 11AM, Thursday, March 5, 2020 at the Andrews Church of God directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Wayne Cox and Rev. Matt Suttle. Burial will be private. The Martin family will receive family and friends from 6-8PM, Wednesday evening, March 4, 2020 in the sanctuary of Andrews Church of God. McKenzie Funeral Home is honored to serve the Martin family. ----------- In this memorial, she is provisionally placed in Andrews Memorial Cemetery with her deceased husband.
