Description	:	Elise "Elsie" Kuper died Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at the Lennox Good Samaritan Center due to continued complications of a stroke suffered in October of 2008. She attained the age of 80 years, six months and 12 days. Memorial services were held Saturday at Lennox Ebenezer Presbyterian Church with Rev. David Young officiating. Honorary pallbearers included Terry Johnson, Brandt Kuper, John Schneiderman, Jared Kuper, and Justin Kuper. Interment was in the Lennox Cemetery. Elise Margaret Blumhoff was born at Lennox on Sept. 6, 1928, the only child of Jergen and Mareke (Camp) Blumhoff. She attended rural schools in Lennox and Tea area. On July 24, 1948 she was united in marriage to Harold A. Kuper at her parents' home in Lennox. They farmed their entire married life south of Lennox. She was a member of Turner County First Presbyterian Church, while she enjoyed and attended Lennox Ebenezer Presbyterian Church as she was able to in her later years. Elsie was an R.S.V.P. volunteer, a quilting volunteer, a driver for meals-on-wheels and did nursing home visitations. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband on Dec. 16, 1971 and her son, Gaylen R. Kuper on June 13, 2004. Surviving are her sons, Gary Kuper, Woodbury, MN and Gene Kuper, Arlington, TX; her daughter, Elonda Makins, Yankton; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
